PtH4GR²ID - Power to Heat for the Greater Region's Renewables Integration and Development

The project PtH4GR²ID aims at a reorganization of the electricity market in the Greater Region, as the generation of electricity from renewable sources increases in the context of the energy transition.

Electricity flow from renewables is more difficult to predict than electricity generation from classical sources such as fossil energy and nuclear energy, and gives greater importance to the question of the balance between supply and demand. The project PtH4GR²ID examines the solution of a demand management, in this case the conversion of an excess of electricity via heat pumps, and addresses the following questions:

Selection of suitable buildings
Development of the technical solution
Consideration of economic and legal aspects
Integration in the real estate market
Tests in the laboratory
Impact on the power grid
Recommendations.
